She's a lady! Elegant Rihanna steps out in flowing black gown with flame red beehive

We are used to seeing the pop Princess strutting her stuff on stage in impossibly tiny outfits or showcasing a provocative look for a night on the town.
But Rihanna came over quite the lady as she attended a charity bash in New York last night.
The What’s My Name singer showed of an extremely demure and elegant look as she arrived at the DKMS fifth annual Linked Against Leukaemia gala.

Rihanna opted for a two-tiered black ball-gown with lace panelling, frilled skirt and an elegant train as she demonstrated a subtle but chic style for the bash.
And in keeping with the look she had her flame red hair styled into an elegant up do and opted for simple yet stunning makeup and only accessorised with a pair of drop earrings.
Rihanna was honoured at the event held at Cipriani Wall Street for her work in the fight against Leukaemia.

And it was just the Bajan singer who stepped out for the charity bash and a whole host of famous faces showed their support for the charity.
Gossip Girl Leighton Meester opted for a chocolate brown one-shoulder rouched dress with gold satin shoes while Eva Mendes opted for a monochrome look in layered white with black trim and black accessories.

N.E.R.D. frontman Pharrell Williams, who was looking extremely sharp in a well-cut tuxedo, took to the stage to introduce a leukaemia patient and a donor for an emotional meeting while Mary J. Blige treated guests to a performance.
Model Iman clashed with the red carpet in a shocking pink chiffon dress with ruffled neckline while veteran singer Cyndi Lauper had chosen an edgier look in black leather with gold accessories.

And as the honoured lady of the evening Rihanna was in high demand as she mixed with fellow guests and caught up with friends.
Rihanna was seen mixing with fashion designer Vera Wang and Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles and she was also seen being introduced to David Bowie by his wife Iman.

In a recent interview with Top of the Pops magazine, the Barbadian singer admitted that she loves lazing around on her days off.
'When I have a day off, I usually just laze around for as long as possible,' she told the publication.
'I watch TV in bed, blast music out really loudly, or maybe go shopping. But recently when I've had time off, I haven't been shopping at all. I've just stayed at home watching TV.'
She also admitted to getting homesick from time to time, confessing: 'I really miss being away from home.
'What I miss most is my family, the food, some of the music and definitely the weather - sunshine makes me happy'Barbados has a different culture and I miss being part of it, having it as my everyday life.'
